Tis the season! Whether you’re looking to pick a live Christmas tree and have it cut for you, buy a freshly cut tree, or take home a living tree in a container, Oxfordshire has plenty of options. Here are some of the county’s top Christmas tree farms and barns, including places where you can “cut your own” tree – or pick a freshly cut one!
The Tree Barn, Christmas Common, Watlington
The Tree Barn, a family-run Christmas tree farm in South Oxfordshire, offers home-grown, freshly cut, and pot-grown trees, alongside festive decorations and gifts. A three-time British Christmas Tree Growers Association Best Tree winner, it has supplied and decorated the outside tree at No. 10 Downing Street.
Varieties: Norman Spruce, Serbian Spruce, Cock Bark Fir, Nordman Fir.

- Christmas shop open Saturday 08 November to noon on Christmas Eve
- Tree sales from Saturday 21 November to noon on Christmas Eve
- Open 7 days a week from 9.00am to 5.30pm, until noon on 24 December
- Late-night shopping on Thursdays/Fridays – 27/28 November and 04/05/11/12 December until 7.30pm

Bunkers Hill Plant Nursery, Kidlington
This family-run nursery, founded by Andrew and Liz in 1992 and now run alongside their daughter Lucy and her husband Simon, is just 8 miles north of Oxford and 2 miles from Blenheim Palace. Visitors can explore hundreds of freshly cut Christmas trees in the ‘Forest’ and enjoy the nursery’s charming winding pathways, rare plants, and knowledgeable staff.
Varieties: Norway Spruce (traditional bright green) and Nordmann Fir (non-needle-drop). Trees range from 3ft to 12ft+. Pot-grown trees for planting in the garden are available from early December.

- Fresh-cut trees available weekly from 21 November.
- November opening hours: 9.00am to 5.00pm daily, closed on Tuesdays.
- 01 to 23 December opening hours: 9.00am to 7.00pm daily.
Notes:
- From early December, pick up holly wreaths, fruit wreaths, bundles of holly, and mistletoe.
- A Click & Collect service is available, along with local deliveries across the Oxfordshire area.

Highfield Trees, Marsh Baldon
The Elliott family has been growing Christmas trees since the mid-1980s and moved to their current site about 10 years later. Highfield Trees now offers a range of fresh, quality trees, welcoming back many loyal customers each year. The farm also produces a wide selection of wreaths, crafted from their own Nordmann and Noble foliage.
Varieties: The Norway Spruce, a timeless Christmas classic, and the Nordmann Fir, prized for its beauty, soft needles, and excellent needle retention.

- Thursday 20 November to Friday 23 December from 10.00am to 4.00pm daily
Notes:
- New trees are cut every day that the farm is open. They don’t pick the best stock first, ensuring a large selection of premium trees is available each day.
- In addition to their premium trees, they offer a range of budget trees – still freshly cut from the field – at discounted prices.
- These trees are marked with a green label, perfect for those looking for a festive bargain.
- Deliveries to customers will take place every Tuesday from 25 November, with the final delivery on 16 December 2025.

Farmer Gow’s, Faringdon
Farmer Gow’s Christmas Tree Barn and Farm Gift Shop, near Faringdon, has been supplying locally grown trees for over 30 years. Visitors can pick from cut or pot-grown trees, browse festive decorations, and enjoy family fun on the farm, with Christmas meats – beef, gammon, goose, lamb, goat and pork – also available for pre-order.
Varieties: Nordmann Firs, Blue Spruces, Lasio Carpa Firs and Norway Spruces. Handmade wreaths, garlands, table decorations, and mistletoe also on sale.

Blenheim Palace, Woodstock
Blenheim Palace offers Estate-grown Christmas trees, including Norway Spruces and Nordmann Firs, available in a range of sizes. Sold on a first-come, first-served basis, visitors can purchase trees and stands from the sales hut in the Estate Office car park, with local delivery also available.
Varieties: Norway Spruces and Nordmann Firs in a variety of sizes.

Appleton Christmas Barn at Appleton
Appleton Christmas Barn, a family-run farm selling Christmas trees for over 75 years, has become a beloved festive tradition.
