Our pick of where to meet Santa in Oxford and across Oxfordshire this Christmas
Have they been naughty, or have they been nice?
For children, one of the highlights of the festive season has to be a visit to see Father Christmas himself, a.k.a. Santa Claus, in his grotto IRL, ho-ho-hoing and dishing out gifts.
And, as all the little ones have been extra nice this year, we’re putting together this growing list of where to meet Santa in Oxford and across Oxfordshire this Christmas.
Make sure you’re not caught short. There’s only so much Santa to go around, so it’s more important than ever to book your kids a slot with ol’ Saint Nick in advance to avoid tears and tantrums.
Santa’s Grotto at Millets Farm Centre
Webbs Garden Centre, located at Millets Farm, will once again be hosting its Santas Grotto event from November through to Christmas Eve. Get your snow boots ready and join Snowball Sammy and friends at the North Pole. They’ll be time for some elftastic jokes before you head through to the reindeer stables, meet Santa in his cosy living room, then head to Mrs Claus’ kitchen.
Christmas 2025 at Oxford Castle and Prison
Santa is coming to town, and he’s setting up shop at Oxford Castle & Prison! Come along to meet Father Christmas himself, and lend a helping hand to the cheerful elves in their magical bear-making workshop. Step inside 1,000 years of history for the brand new 40-minute seasonal guided tour, focusing on the oldest and darkest corners of Oxford Castle & Prison, with a chilling twist.
Christmas Fairytale 2025
Step into the enchanting world of Christmas Fairytale, where the magic of the season comes alive with every twinkling light and festive experience. This year, immerse yourself in the timeless charm of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol as Fairytale Farm recreates the bustling streets of Victorian London.

Santa’s Grotto at Bicester Avenue Garden Centre
Visit Santa’s Grotto at Bicester Avenue Garden Centre. Begin your adventure at the North Pole, where little ones can help mix the all-important reindeer food ready to sprinkle on Christmas Eve. Then, wander through to Santa’s cosy living room for a special one-to-one meeting. There’ll be time for a festive photo too, available to purchase at the end of your visit.
Santa Steam Specials: All Aboard!
Travel on Santa’s steam train to see the Great Man-in-Red in an enhanced Workshop and Grotto at his North Pole station, where the train will halt for a while for refreshments and a much-anticipated visit to see Santa – chat with him and take some great photos for the album – and pick-up that important very first Christmas present.
Santa Express
Take a train trip with Santa at the Cholsey & Wallingford Railway this Christmas. Be entertained by Santa’s elves, be visited by Father Christmas, and every child will receive a present. Before departure, adults will receive a free festive drink and mince pie, and children will receive a soft drink and a sweet treat from the Christmas Market.
Christmas at Cogges and Santa’s Grotto
Enjoy the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas at Cogges, and meet Father Christmas and his elves in Santa’s Grotto for a special audience with the man himself and a gift for every child. Kids will be able to burn off energy and boogie away to festive tunes at the Christmas Disco and take part in a whole host of exciting Christmas Craft Activities in the Party and Craft Barn.
Steam into Christmas at Didcot Railway Centre
Steam Into Christmas and help Santa find his missing reindeer! Explore the 21-acre site to find each of Santa’s lost reindeer, culminating in a visit to the grotto to meet Santa. Grab your tickets, make tracks to Didcot Railway Centre and Steam Into Christmas!
Oxford Bus Museum Father Christmas Days
In Victorian times, Santa travelled by a sleigh pulled by reindeer. More recently, he’s also well known to have travelled by steam train, but now he’s hopping onboard a vintage Oxford bus. Visit Father Christmas in his bus grotto while enjoying a complimentary vintage bus ride on Sunday 14 and Sunday 21 December.
