With the sunshine making an appearance, it’s officially time to move the socials outdoors – and so it was that I was invited to sample a spot that ticks all the boxes for summer sipping, catching up with friends, and soaking up the good vibes: Flight Club Oxford’s terrace.
You probably know Flight Club for its buzzing atmosphere and Social Darts – it’s playful, energetic, and always a good laugh. But what you might not know is that behind the vibrant, fairground-style interior is a stunning outdoor terrace that looks out across the Oxfordshire countryside.
And let me tell you – this hidden gem is about to become the place to be this summer.
A Secret Garden in the City
From the moment I stepped onto the terrace, it felt like I’d stumbled into a floral daydream. Flight Club has given both its back terrace and front outdoor seating a glorious seasonal makeover – think bold blooms, festoon lights, and full-on summer energy. Peonies, hydrangeas and foxgloves bring the colour, while the view adds a peaceful escape from the city buzz.
It’s the kind of place you can settle into for hours – post-work drinks, long weekend brunches, or drawn-out evenings with friends. And yes, there are blankets and heaters on standby for when the great British summer inevitably dips.
Flight Club in Bloom: A Cocktail Menu Worth Exploring
As part of the Flight Club in Bloom experience, I got to sample a few cocktails from their brand-new, limited-edition summer menu – and every single one was a hit. A few highlights:
- Mango No. 5 – fruity, fizzy and tropical with Patrón Silver and a mango White Claw float that gave it a refreshing twist.
- Amalfi Nights – a taste of Italian summer evenings with bittersweet Aperol, Monkey 47 gin, and almond notes that made it effortlessly sippable.
- Just Peachy – smooth Patrón Reposado with juicy peach liqueur and pineapple. Sweet, but balanced.
- Love Wins – this one stood out for more than just flavour. It’s a vibrant, passion fruit and melon-infused mix made with Stonewall Dry Gin – and for every one sold, Flight Club donates £1 to MindOut, an LGBTQ mental health charity. A beautiful cocktail with a beautiful cause.
The Flight Club in Bloom cocktails are available until September, so make it your mission to try them while the sun’s still shining.
Pizza, Prosecco and Party Vibes
As if the terrace and cocktails weren’t enough, Flight Club’s Bottomless Brunch is next-level fun. For £38 per person, you get a two-hour brunch session including a full hour at the oche playing Social Darts, a bottle of prosecco each, and unlimited sourdough pizza.
The DJ keeps the tunes going, and once you’ve worked up an appetite (and a competitive streak), the terrace is the perfect place to wind down and refuel.
If you’re looking for an al fresco spot that brings the energy and the escapism, Flight Club Oxford is absolutely worth a visit. Whether it’s mango cocktails at golden hour or pizza-fuelled brunch in full bloom, it’s got summer written all over it – and I already can’t wait to go back.
