What’s on in Oxford and across Oxfordshire this Christmas
Christmas in Oxford, and indeed across Oxfordshire, really is magical.
Almost as soon as the temperature drops and the clocks go back, the county is transformed into a wintry wonderland, glittering with Christmas lights and creatively decorated trees, with Christmas markets and pop-up winter events in the city as well as in towns and villages across Oxfordshire.
When December comes around, everyone suddenly seems to be that little bit friendlier, and you can fill your free time sipping hot booze, watching festive shows and pantos, revisiting your favourite Christmas films, belting out a carol or two, and having a proper knees-up at a Christmas party or two.
And after the pandemic of the last two years that meant that the festivities were somewhat more muted than usual, you can expect what’s on in Oxfordshire this Christmas to be bigger, sparklier and filled with more festive fun than ever before.
Gone are the socially distanced meet-ups in the park, clutching a takeaway cup of mulled wine for warmth. Back are the pantos, markets, fairs, light shows, carols, concerts, and much more. Oh boy, did we miss ’em!
